Saturday May 17th marked the 4th annual Heavyfest at the Magic Hat Brewery. The event featured five live bands including The Main Squeeze, American Babies, Gang of Thieves and more! We had an outdoor beer garden featuring rare casks, brewer-led tours, grub from the Skinny Pancake, and a live spray painting expo of the Heavyfest demolition derby car! Heavyfest is a benefit for Big Heavy World, a volunteer run non-profit whose mission is to preserve and promote Vermont-made music. This year's event raised nearly $5,500 for the Vermont music scene bringing our four year total to over $25,000. To learn more about Big Heavy World go to http://www.bigheavyworld.com. The 5th Annual Wall to Canvas
Saturday August 23rd, 2014
On Saturday August 23rd the Magic Hat Artifactory hosted the 5th annual Wall to Canvas, a live urban arts competition that benefits the Shelburne Craft School. The event featured 12 artists who created 3ft x 5ft masterpieces before onlookers’ eyes. In addition to live art the event also featured an outdoor beer garden with a rare cask release of Hi#9, music from local DJ’s, an artist merchandise area and an interactive art project that allowed all attendees to get their creative juices flowing and answer the ever pressing question, are you monkey or banana. At the end of the event all the pieces were auctioned off, half the proceeds going to the craft school and the other half to the artists. We also awarded this year’s victor, Eskaei Raymond, $500 and an art show at the Magic Hat Art Space. The event raised over $8,500
