Lucid: Having full use of one's faculties. In this case, the Plattsuburgh, NY-based band is using a number of faculties to come together to produce and distinct and somewhat bluesy sound. Their On Tour submission, Backwoods, rocks it with a killer harmonica throughout and brings about their influences of rock, lo-fi and jazz.

Rubblebucket Orchestra present listeners with a cornucopia of sound, from tight trumpeting to amazing percussion to a huge trombone. Their polyrythmic afrobeat arrangements are brought together beautifully by a great lead voice and will no doubt stick in your headspace. Listen to Bikes and see for yourself.

Roots of Creation, out of Milford, NH, will get you your reggae fix for sure. But they're much more than just a raggae band. Combining elements of rock, electronica and more, they're sure to get you going on the dancefloor. Plus, they're environmentally sound. Sweet. Their track Oh Lord is oh-so good. Check it.

Nashville, Tennessee's Darla Farmer will take your ears from consonance to dissonance and back again before you know what just hit you. With their haughty horn section and energetic lyrics that pair perfectly with everything else, it's like your on a rollercoaster ride of sound. Smooth licks and even smoother vocals are the name of the game for the Winooski, VT, band Bearquarium. Thought their name conjurs images of, well, bears in bear-sized, water-filled holding tanks, their music conjures jazz, funk, soul and, most importantly, body movin'. Stir into the masterful mix of musicians Cloud 9. This Chester, NY-based group loves their words and takes every opportunity to combine lines in finer fashion. Their submitted jam "Longer Days" shows their ability to play and fast, formed songs and that their sound is both unique and as genre-bending as they say in their profile. Consider your ears on Cloud 9.

The 3rd Finalist of 10 in Magic Hat's On Tour contest is Mondo Gecko, jamming out of Boston, Massachusetts. These five fancy hat-wearing musicians are a jam band through and through and interact with their audiences throughout each of their shows.
