About Participation
The inspiration for Participation comes from our fabulous quadrennial partnership with grassroots voter registration organization, HeadCount. Every four years, we get together in an energizing effort to register voters so their voices may be heard. The collective excitement between we two democratically correct organizations promises a year full of politically inspired conversation over some of the finest craft beers ever brewed. Election years promise profound political discussion, and there’s no better way to opine than from the top of a beer box.
Starting in January, Magic Hat lovers had the opportunity to vote their favorite Magic Hat beer into the Participation Variety Pak through our online voting campaign. As each Magic Hat beer is incredibly unique, each had taken a personal stand, the foundations of which could be pondered over one or several libations. From there, voters were able to make an informed decision based on their personal ale needs and values (in beer). Voting in the Primaries was held from January 10th – March 6th, with a second round of voting for the final candidates – Jinx, Hocus Pocus and Fat Angel – taking place from March 7th – April 6th. The final ballots were counted on April 6th, and the winning candidate will soon appear in our Participation Variety Pak, due out August 1st.
As you gear up for voting this fall, you’ll be able to consider your electoral options over the Magic Hat Participation Variety Pak, complete with a democratically elected brew inside. The culmination of the Participation program takes place on Election Day, November 6th, 2012, with more details to come. Voting is your right. Exercise it.
