Athfest Rises From Its Grass Roots For a 13th Year

Since 1996, the city of Athens, Georgia, has been coming together to party in honor of their bustling bevy of talented musicians and artists during Athfest. It is estimated that there are over 400 bands (or mutations of bands) in this city of just over 100,000 people.

With it's collective passion for the arts, this four-day festival was created, by Jeff Bailey, to pay homage to this sweet southern city and its incredible inclination to create.

This year's Athfest takes place from June 25th to June 28th. Featuring over 160 bands playing in venues all over town, an artist market where local folks can sling their creative creations and several film screenings, this event promises to be one you'll not soon forget. Head out and support one of the best locally grown music and arts festivals in the South and, of course, to put back some Magic Hat brews under the hot summer sun.
