South Burlington, VT, September 22, 2009 ― Denizens of Washington, D.C., be forewarned: this Halloween Eve, don't be spooked -- attend the area's most sinister celebration: The Night of the Living Zoo: From the Cauldrons of Magic Hat Brewing Company.  Halloween history will be made in the nation's capital when this inaugural – yet phantasmagorical – party gets underway at the Smithsonian National Zoo Friday, October 30 from 8 p.m. to midnight.  It promises to be an event of monstrous proportions featuring brews, music, masks, mayhem and spine-chilling thrills! 

 

 A Frightfully Fantastic Celebration So Extrasensory It's Scary

Celebrants 21 years of age and older are invited to put on their eeriest attire and dress their best for an evening of gruesome sights and supernaturally superior sounds, including:

  • Dancing until the clock strikes twelve to the sonic manifestations of jazz-hip-hop-funk band Soulive
  • Entire animal houses decked out in mysterious motifs
  • Terrifying tricks and hair-raising acts, including illusionists, fire-eaters and palm readers
  • Multiple "Fear Gardens" where Magic Hat's monstrously delicious ales will be poured
  • Delectable edibles sure to haunt every appetite
  • The underworld's eeriest costume contest where all celebrants can enter for a chance to win howling good prizes
