Magic Brats


Best. Backyard project. EVER.
IngredientsA dozen brats
12 pack of #9
2 Vidalia onions
1 stick butter
Bottle of mustard
12 Sheboygan hard rolls
1 jar/bag sauerkraut (optional)
Cooking InstructionsLight a chimney full of real wood chunk charcoal (if you have a gas grill, just drink the beer and order pizza).

While you wait for the coals to ash over and lose some intensity, put a pot of water on to boil. Once it reaches a boil, remove from heat and add brats, place lid on pot and have a beer. Your giving the brats a warm bath to firm up, DO NOT BOIL.

Once brats turn white (5 minutes), place on grill, tend until golden (DO NOT WALK AWAY - HAVE A CHILD FETCH YOUR BEER - DONE CORRECTLY THIS TAKES A BEER OR TWO, BUT ONCE FULLY TRAINED, THE CHILD BECOMES IRREPLACEABLE).

Place golden brats in pan (one of those fancy thick metal ones with sides your wife bakes cakes in) on the grill. Add butter, #9 and chopped onions (sauerkraut is optional). When the smell hits the neighborhood, act like you've been there before.

Place brat in bun, add kraut (optional) and top with mustard (not optional). Eat and finish beer.
